Project list

The project list shows the projects available to you. Depending on your permissions setup and the project configuration you may not be able to see all existing projects. For example, a Super Administrator can see all existing projects while an normal registered user can only see projects that he is a member of or if the project is explicitly set to "public".

Above the project list you can filter by active, archived and unapproved projects. Active projects are still in progress while archived projects are finished/done. Unapproved projects are projects that have been created by registered users and need to be approved by an administrator first before they become active. However, this may not be necessary depending on how you configured the section (more on that below). Also note that archived and unapproved projects cannot be selected as workspace.


New/Edit project

General Information - Title
This field is required (marked in green). The title of your project

General Information - Description
Optional. A description of your project.

Deadline
Check the box if your project has a deadline or not. Note that when you set a deadline, all task deadlines will be reset to this date if the task deadline is past this date.

Access settings - Is public
Set this to yes if you want non-project members to be able to see this project. Otherwise the project will be visible only to you and your project members. Note that any user with the flag "System Administrator" can see your project regardless of this setting.

Access settings - Allow registration
Allow others to request to join your project. This will only work if "Is public" is set to "Yes"! Users can request to join the project from the project details page. You will then receive an email notification from the applicant. To manage your project members and join requests, go to the "Users" section.

Appearance - Color
Here you can select a color for your project. This will change all weblink colors to the selected color.

Appearance - Logo
Upload a logo for your project. The logo will appear in the side bar, replacing the Projectfork logo whenever you have the project selected as workspace.

Contact - Website
Enter a link to the project website. This link will be displayed on the project details page.

Contact - Email
Enter a contact email address. The address will be displayed on the project details page.

Invite people - Force join
This option is only available to users with the "System Administrator" flag. Check this box if want to add the selected users instantly to your project.

Invite people - Add member
Here you can select any user you wish to invite to your project. To add multiple users simply click on the "Add member" label again and a new drop down list will appear. To manage existing members, you'll have to go to the "Users" section!

Config

To get to the project configuration, you can either click on the "Config" button above the project list, or navigate to Config -> Sections -> (Edit) Projects. The most relevant settings are on the right side under "Parameters".

Basic settings - Allow custom color
If set to yes, Projectfork allows you to select a custom color for each project in the project new/edit form.

Basic settings - Allow logo upload
If set to yes, allow the project founder to upload a logo for his project in the project new/edit form.

Basic settings - Use content editor
If se to yes, a content editor will be used for the project description. Otherwise, a simple textarea will appear.

Basic settings - Project approval
If set to yes, every new project that has been created by a non-System Administrator needs to be approved first. This is useful if you are hosting a project management service.

Logo settings - Max. logo width
Set the maximum logo image width

Logo settings - Max. logo height
Set the maximum logo image height

Logo settings - Logo storage path
This is where the images will be saved on the server. If you are having trouble uploading logos, check the permissions of that folder.

Copy settings - Copy tasks
If set to yes, Projectfork will also copy the task of the selected projects.

Copy settings - Copy milestones
If set to yes, Projectfork will also copy the milestones of the selected projects.

Copy settings - Copy groups
If set to yes, Projectfork will also copy the project groups of the selected projects.

Copy settings - Copy users
If set to yes, Projectfork will also copy the project members of the selected projects.
