A new version of Projectfork is on the horizon and today I am going to present to you one of the major improvements: The refined ACL.

The ACL update consists of 2 main changes: "Group" and "Access Level" functionality have been merged into a single resource called "User Access Role", and the "Score" for permissions has been removed. Beyond that, we've done some interface changes to make the whole ACL more transparent and intuitive to use:

Permission Access Settings (Projectfork -> Config -> Sections -> Edit)

Permission Settings

New User Access Role (Projectfork -> Users -> Roles -> New)

User Role

User Role

Please remember that this release is not meant for production use. We'll provide no updates or support for this release. You'll find the download at the bottom of this article.

On a side note, I know that the release comes a lot later than anticipated - mainly due to my poor internet connection (tethering from my iPhone for 2 months now) which makes direct communication with the team difficult and general online interaction a pain. One should think that internet and phone should be available everywhere in a capital city, but apparently not! /rant.  I've also taken on other responsiblities and projects, some of which are Joomla! related. I'll present those to you when the time is right.
