I have added two brand new features to File Manager Pro:

• Ability to restrict folder access to certain project groups
• Ajax driven quick-upload in the file browser

Please note that this update is only available for the File Manager running on Projectfork 3.0!

On this day, 4 years ago, a small Joomla! extension called "Hydra" has been released on the Joomla! extensions directory. But that's not when the journey of this project started and the following story is not just about the "product" Projectfork - it's about me, people I've met along the way and how Joomla! changed my life. I don't recall telling the full story in "public" and in such detail, so arm yourselves with a good cup of coffee or tea and get ready to travel back in time.

The Projectfork Team is extremely pleased to announce the release of Projectfork 3.0 Stable! Production of 3.0 (originally 2.2) began in March. The Beta phase, which launched on August 17th, went incredibly smooth largely due to the fantastic feedback and reports from the Projectfork Community, thank you!

Unfortunately there will be no Projectfork 3.0 stable release today. We've missed our projected release date by just a little bit and we'll do our best to finish and release everything tomorrow. There have been some last-minute bug reports in the forum today and we also want to be absolutely sure we test everything thoroughly so no bugs creep in at the last minute (not like that's ever happened around here :) )

Last-minute changes: They can be a good thing or a bad thing. I must admit that things didn't go exactly as planned in yesterday's RC 1 release. I've been pulling my hair out when I got the first bug reports in so early and it was clear to me that something has gone terribly wrong on my end. I guess I was just too excited to finally show off some results that I lost my head at some point. Anyway, I'm really sorry about the mess and RC 2 is here to clean things up!

Clearly, November is the best month of the year. Why? Let's see...

• Projectfork RC release (Today)
• Projectfork stable release (15th if nothing gets in the way)
• My mom's birthday (also 15th)
• Projectfork's birthday (20th - 4 years old!)
• My own birthday (28th - 24 years old!)

So much to celebrate this month! All the pieces come together now and all the hard work that Kyle and I have done over the course of the year will finally be released (literally) to the entire Joomla! world and for everyone to see and enjoy. I must say that the release today is a big relief, knowing that all the work is finally coming to an end (sort of). Release dates have been pushed over and over again and 2.2 was supposed to come out this summer. I've been working and living on the brink since then to get to the point where I and this project stand today.

As with the previous Goggles update for 2.2, this is a complete rebuild of the MyProject theme. The theme will dynamically adjust for use in the Joomla admin, frontend, and frontend with the Joomla template hidden "intranet mode".

This is it, the final beta release for Projectfork 2.2! As I've mentioned in the·previous beta 2 announcement, beta 3 is mostly about Joomla 1.6 compatibility issues. I'd appreciate it if you take some to test this beta on the latest Joomla 1.6 release and leave your feedback in the forum.
