New Version of Goggles Theme Coming for 2.2
Written by Kyle Ledbetter CommentsWith progress on Projectfork 2.2 stable quickly...progressing, it's time to update our Premium Projectfork Themes. If you're wondering, the 2.1 version of those themes won't be compatible for 2.2. Don't worry though, much experience has been gained since those themes have received an overhaul.
First up is the Goggles theme. The Goggles theme has always paid homage to Google apps such as Gmail and Google Docs (that's where the name Goggles came from). Besides colors though, the theme didn't truly feel like a Google app. Goggles also doesn't look at ton different from the Project theme, so I felt that it was really time to make these themes truly unique.
The beta is finally here! Projectfork 2.2 is a major update to every aspect of our Free/GPL Joomla project management software.
In this new version, we've touched every bit of code with the goal of making things easier and more efficient on every level. A new cache system has been added, the theme engine has been refactored, extension development is easier than ever, convenient features have been created, and an entirely new user interface has been developed.
New Default Theme Coming for Projectfork 2.2
Written by Kyle Ledbetter CommentsWhile Tobias has been working on the infrastructure updates for Projectfork 2.2, I've jumped in on a total revamp of the Default theme. This means I've thrown out the entire Default theme from 2.1 (just like we did moving from 2.0 to 2.1). As always, we've learned much from the preview versions and our premium themes, and we're moving that knowledge into the core.
The last update for the 2.1 series was about 2 months ago and while I am busy with the 2.2 development, I still care for 2.1...no worries. But I've squeezed out pretty much every bug I can imagine. So here is another release with the few bugs I've found and fixed:
- Fixed: Project invitation links no longer direct to the backend
- Fixed: When deleting a project, Projectfork now properly deletes custom access levels and task attachment references
- Fixed: When deleting a task, task attachment references are now also deleted
It's about time to bring out some news regarding the Projectfork 2.2 development, isn't it? Well, I've launched the alpha phase yesterday and I'm trying to release updates every day (just had a second release a few minutes ago).
I recently did a presentation of the high-level features of Projectfork at the CMS Expo, along with price comparisons to other popular project managers such as Basecamp, ActiveCollab and Zoho Projects. There's also some fun info on the upcoming Projectfork 2.2 and 3.0 :)
If you're doing research on exactly what Projectfork is and need a bit more info you should check it out:
A new version of Projectfork is now available with the following changes:
- Fixed task and milestone ordering bug (caused by version 2.1.7)
- Fixed task list pagination bug
- Added missing process event for archiving projects task
The update procedure is as always. And I think (or hope) that this was it for the 2.1.x series in terms of bugfixes. Should you encounter any more bugs after this release I'll fix them of course. On a side note: I have an update for the community builder and the JomSocial integration in the pipeline as well as the first alpha release of Projectfork 2.2. So make sure to check the website for news starting next week :)
A few weeks ago I was hoping to bring you a first test release of the new Projectfork 2.2 version. Unfortunately, the development didn't go as fast as I believed it would. And I don't want to rush it and release something I don't feel comfortable with. So you'll have to be a bit more patient :) Until then I want to introduce the main changes done in 2.2. In this first post I want to talk about the updated Projectfork framework.
In this month's patch I have found and fixed just a few problems (as expected), including a critical bug in the permission system. I recommend you update to this version as soon as possible.
Changelog:
- Fixed SEF issue with the time tracking panel in the side-bar
- Fixed incorrect task comment count when having multiple people assigned to the same task
- Fixed bug in permission system
- Added option to bypass user permissions so every team member can see all project activity regardless of their permissions.
- Added separate list limit for user status changes
- Added german language pack (additionally to the english pack)
If you have any questions regarding the Activity Stream or the Projectfork Bundle, leave a comment or ask in the forum :)
For those who already have Activity Stream installed, please uninstall the Activity Stream panel and the language process (don't uninstall the Activity tracking process). Then grab the latest version from the store and install the new version of the panel and the language process. Once installed, you can find the new config options in the Activity stream panel settings.
